We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our CNC aerospace machine shop as a Quality Assurance Trainee through the Skills Bridge Program. This is an excellent opportunity for transitioning service members (or program-eligible candidates) to gain hands-on training in precision quality inspection while contributing to the production of critical aerospace components.Under close supervision and mentorship, you will learn to ensure machined parts meet rigorous aerospace standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (such as AS9100). This role focuses on building foundational skills in metrology, inspection processes, and quality systems in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Successful completion of the training may lead to full-time employment opportunities
Job description:
-Learn and perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections on CNC-machined aerospace parts using basic and advanced precision tools.-Receive training on operating CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), optical comparators, and other metrology equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.-Study and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles while interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.-Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of materials, in-process parts, and finished components.-Assist in documenting inspection results, maintaining records, and supporting non-conformance reports (NCRs).-Learn aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA requirements) and participate in quality procedures and audits.-Support material traceability verification and supplier documentation reviews.-Collaborate with experienced QA staff, CNC machinists, and engineering teams to understand quality issues and process improvements.-Participate in training on statistical process control (SPC), calibration procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.-Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all shop safety protocols
