The DoW Skillbridge Contracting & Acquisition Specialist will work alongside Business Development/Growth personnel.Ursa Major is seeking a DoW Skillbridge participant to utilize their service-related experience and education to conduct cost or price analysis, inform how military requirements take shape, and help inform the content and structure of Ursa Major contracts. The SkillBridge participant could also inform, mentor, and work alongside Procurement Specialists to offer unique insights and past experience on assessing market conditions, and negotiating pricing and purchase terms. SkillBridge applicants are expected to demonstrate the leadership and maturity to work alongside and potentially manage small teams within product lines.

Responsibilities:Monitor active contracts and associated program obligations, ensuring all requirements are clearly communicated, understood, and executed across internal teams.Identify and set timelines for technical and contractual milestones, ensuring program managers have visibility into progress and risk areas.Review and interpret contract terms and conditions covering financial requirements, delivery schedules, acceptance criteria to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.Manage contract administration throughout the lifecycle, including tracking deliverables, documenting changes, and maintaining accurate historical records and configuration control.Understand technical risks of contracts supporting Ursa Major product lines and minimize those risks using organized tools and processes.Collaborate cross-functionally to write, review, and present contractual aspects and (potential) technical deliverables for internal and customer-facing engagements.Provide technical support to business development efforts, including proposal writing, interchange meetings with prospective customers, and identification of product opportunities to strengthen competitiveness.Other duties as assigned. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or a related field with 5 years of applicable experience working with contracts, acquisitions and compliance.Strong background in government program management, with deep familiarity in FAR, and DFARS regulatory frameworksProven understanding in Other Transaction Authority (OTA) processes and rapid acquisition pathways supporting accelerated capability deliveryProven track record of success in business development, contracts, and acquisitions within the aerospace industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth.Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.A thorough understanding of aerospace and rocket systems is desired but not required; Ursa Major will ensure coaching, mentoring, and education on the technical aspects of propulsion as part of the broader SkillBridge experience.
DoW Skillbridge Participants must be active duty service members in good standing with Command Approval who are within 180-days of retirement from service with expectations of receiving Honorable or General Discharge (candidates within 9-months of retirement are encouraged to apply).
