Commander approval to participate in the VLGMF program does not guarantee fellowship placement. Once written authoriztion to participate has been obtained, the VLGMF Program Manager will collaborate with local government agencies to identify potential training opportunities.

Contact Employer POC to Apply: To be eligible for this program you must hold a Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of leadership experience (or equivalent related experience) OR hold an Associated Degree with 5+ years of leadership experience (or equivalent related experience) WITH the intent to complete your Bachelor's Degree in the next 2-3 years. Additionally, you must have a strong interest in serving in local government management and possess one or more of the following areas of experience: international local government experience, public affairs, information operations and public relations, engineering, public works, utilities, human resources, public policy analysis, law enforcement, information technology, fire or EMS services, public finance, strategic managment, parks and recreation, project or program management, economic development, and business or public administration.
