The Marketing and Communications Specialist provides direct assistance to the Marketing and Communications Department in all facets of duties related to marketing, communications, events, and public relations. With the ever-changing landscape of today’s communication methods and the organic nature in which nonprofits function, this role requires a person who is agile, flexible, and easy to train. Some experience in the Marketing and/or Communications fields is a plus but not required.
Job description:
· Create graphics/materials utilizing Canva, Photoshop, PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator· Assisting in videography projects, including managing vendor relationships, editing content, production of video content, and preparing video scripts· Write copy for use in all facets of the organization’s communications, primarily for blogs and social content· Monitor social media channels and report comments that need to be addressed· Assist in taking photographs at local events· Proofreading and editing for all marketing and communications materials· Assist in updating website content· Assist in the creation and distribution of e-newsletters and other e-appeals· Fulfill other responsibilities as they may arise
This is an onsite position to ensure proper training and supervision can take place to ensure you receive the outcomes you hope to achieve with this opportunity. We do allow tele-commuting one day a week after we feel the intern has enough information about the role to work self-sufficiently from home on that day. This goal is usually achieved near the 30 day point. Onsite duties will be at Soldiers' Angels Headquarters at 1355 Central Parkway S, Suite 700, San Antonio, TX 78232.
