Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description: The Civil Engineer will assist in the design of land development projects including grading, drainage analysis, street design, street widening, water distribution, sewage collection and storm drain systems. Tasks and Responsibilities include: • Transform initial rough product design information into working construction documents using AutoCAD.• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare plans for drainage, precise grading, water, sewer, storm drain, street improvements, and site planning for land development projects.• Prepare engineering drawings to specified standards.• Design construction documents and prepare special exhibits and constraint maps using field data and engineering research.Education and Experience (preferred):• B.S. in Civil Engineering with experience in civil engineering field.• EIT or PE certification (or intent to obtain certification)Key Competencies: • Proficiency in computer design programs including AutoCAD 2009 or newer, Civil 3D, and Hydrology Hydraulics software, as well as general Microsoft Office programs.• Process oriented.• Highly self-motivated.• Critical thinker and problem solver.• Clear and deliberate communication skills.Length of Training: 18 Weeks

Phase 1: Introduction and Fundamental Engineering Concepts (Weeks 1-6)Objective: To introduce the fundamental concepts of land development, including land use, zoning, and basic site design.• Week 1: Company orientation, familiarization with engineering departments, introduction to software and tools used in civil engineering.• Weeks 2-3: Understanding site preparation, layout, and initial stages of construction.• Weeks 4-6: In-depth training on fundamental civil engineering topics such as stormwater management and basic utilities planning. Hands-on sessions on surveying.Assessment: Evaluate understanding of basic land development principles through a written test and practical site analysis exercise.Phase 2: Project Management and Specialized Training (Weeks 7-12)Objective: To develop advanced skills in sustainable development practices and land development design software.• Weeks 7-8: Introduction to civil engineering project management, focusing on budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.• Weeks 9-10: Advanced training in specialized civil engineering fields like transportation engineering, hydraulic engineering, and environmental impact assessment.• Weeks 11-12: Participating in ongoing projects, applying design principles, and using simulation software for design validation.Assessment: Assess proficiency in software tools and sustainable practices through a project-based evaluation.Phase 3: Integration and Evaluation (Weeks 13-18)Objective: To apply learned skills in real-world scenarios in various civil engineering and land development projects.• Weeks 13-15: Applying learned skills in a real-world project setting, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and problem-solving.• Weeks 16-17: Elective specialization in areas such as urban and master planned developments. • Week 18: Comprehensive assessment through project presentations, feedback sessions, and evaluation of technical and managerial skills.Assessment: Comprehensive review of performance demonstrating expertise in land development and client management skills.Training Outcome: The Civil Engineer will have a thorough understanding of land development principles, advanced skills in sustainable practices, and proficiency in relevant design software.
