Job description:

Scott Equipment Services is offering a 20-week DoD SkillBridge opportunity for eligible transitioning service members interested in field service, mechanical systems, power generation, rotating equipment, and steam turbine generator systems.The trainee will receive approximately 800 hours of supervised on-the-job training in steam turbine generator system fundamentals, turbine inspection, gearbox inspection, generator inspection, lubrication and auxiliary systems, instrumentation and associated control-system inspection, STG operation for testing and inspection, troubleshooting, laser alignment equipment, field-service documentation, customer-site support, and other duties as assigned.Training will be conducted through supervised OJT, hands-on demonstration, safety briefings, shop-based instruction, practical exercises, documentation review, mentor feedback, and supervised field or customer/project-site training. The trainee will not perform unsupervised work. All training remains subject to SkillBridge eligibility, command approval, SES training capacity, safety requirements, and customer-site requirements.

There is no tuition, training fee, equipment fee, certification fee, or program participation fee charged to the Service member. This opportunity consists of supervised on-the-job training provided by Scott Equipment Services. Any required training instruction, mentor oversight, and supervised OJT activities will be provided as part of the program.

Eligibility factors:

Applicants should be eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation and must have command approval before starting the program. Applicants should have an interest in mechanical, electrical, industrial, power-generation, rotating-equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, or field-service work.Applicants must be able to follow safety procedures, use required PPE, comply with customer-site rules, communicate professionally, document work accurately, and participate in supervised shop, field, or customer-site training. Training may involve standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders where authorized, working around industrial equipment, lifting within safe limits, and traveling to customer/project sites as required.Prior military technical experience is helpful but not required. A valid driver’s license is preferred and may be required depending on travel or customer-site requirements. Participation remains subject to SES training capacity, safety requirements, customer-site access requirements, and approved SkillBridge dates.
