This course is completed primarily through on-the-job training and is aircraft specific. It is anticipated that the trainee will complete training on two or moreaircraft models. The approved trainer will review the current technical data related to the task with the trainee prior to and during task completion. Thissyllabus is designed to be utilized along with the current, applicable USATS, Schweitzer or other FAA acceptable maintenance procedures which provide thereferences for training item completion. The training shall be completed in three distinct phases (Phase 1, 2 and 3) with the trainer or task certifier attestingto the training provided. Phase 1 training is the trainer performing the task with the trainee observing. Phase 2 is the trainee performing the task with thetrainer observing. Phase 3 is the trainee performing the task with a task certifier performing an oral and practical evaluation of the trainees performance.Once all three phases are complete, the trainee will initial signifying they have received training and are competent to perform the task. At this point, thetrainee is considered qualified for the indicated task. Total training time for each aircraft type is expected to be 240 hours.
