S&C Electric Co is growing and the need for additional Field Service Technicians is critical to meet demand. The Field Services Leadership team has more than 30 years of experiences collectively which provides a great opportunity for new team members to learn, grow, and bridge skill sets.The Field Services Engineering team is critical to supporting our customers by installing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment to maintain electrical power services globally. S&C provides solutions for customers worldwide.S&C Electric Co. has launched a training program to provide customized training for Field Service Technicians.· Intro to Power Distribution Systems (There are basic concepts and terminology commonly used in power distribution systems, both internally by S&C and by our customers) 120Hrs. max· Power Systems & Devices (The goal is to gain a basic familiarity with each device before gaining hands-on experience or working in the field. 80 Hrs max· Maintenance, Installation, & Repair (Participation in workshops, application of knowledge learned, partnering with Field Service Engineering team to practice and exhibit skilled learned to prepare for work in the field. 200hrs maxS&C DOD Skillsbridge CriteriaMust be a current Active Duty ServicememberMust be transitioning within 6 months.Must be able to complete a minimum of 400 hours of on-the-job trainingMust be able to complete 60-90 days of training, full-time to meet program requirements.Job Title: Upon completion of the Field Service Technician training courses, this SkillBridge training program will prepare the Service member to become a Field Service Technician.CompensationService member will continue to receive salary/benefits from military during training program.Cost of ProgramThere is no cost to service member. Reimbursement for room and board during program.Length of Training:Field Service Technician is a 400-hour, 10-week training program, minimum 30 sessions. 200 hours in class instruction. 200 hours of hands-on instruction. Meeting five days a week for 8-hour training sessions daily.Cohort Start TimesThere will be 2 cohorts offered. Service Members can select to join in April or August.

Job Description: S&C’s Power Systems Services (PSS) provides customers with a wide range of electric power industry engineering and construction services. The group also coordinates large orders involving multiple product groups and/or third parties and provides field services for customers. The Field Service Center - performs various maintenance and repair of substation and utility electrical equipment. Verbal and written communication skills are required as part of the documentation process associated with the physical work effort. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:• Troubleshooting, performing emergency repairs and preventative maintenance.• Modifying and upgrading products.• Providing startup assistance/installation supervision.• Training on all S&C products of both current and past vintages.• Using various hand tools (personal property) and specialty tools (supplied by S&C) on equipment such as Circuit-Switchers and Metal-Enclosed Gear that is in a de-energized and grounded state.• Performing work in accordance with OSHA and industry safety practices such as “Lock Out Tag Out” and including utilization of extensive personal protective equipment.To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:• Associate degree preferred, or equivalent technical experience.• Be a minimum of 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.• 2+ years of previous experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, or maintenance of electrical utility equipment, facilities, or products.• Ability to read mechanical drawings and possess excellent mechanical skills.• Able to interpret electrical drawings and possess computer skills.• Candidate must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time. Typical travel will be on weekdays and within the assigned region, however there may be a business need for travel outside the region as well as on weekends and holidays.• Electrical substation maintenance and construction experience preferred.• Knowledge of, and experience with, utility electrical protection equipment preferred.• Relevant Work Experience: 2+ years of previous experience in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, or maintenance of electrical utility equipment, facilities, or products.
