Summary description:
Senior Marine Instructor (SMI), Marine Instructor (MI) Instructors are all retired military members of the United States Marine Corps. Normally, one retired officer and one retired enlisted are employed by the school at each program. While Marine Corps Junior ROTC instructors are retired military members, they continue to wear their Marine uniform (at their retired grade) in the performance of their duties. As such, instructors are required to meet and maintain uniform wear, grooming, and weight standards during their tenure as instructors.
Job description:
MCJROTC will provide retiring Marines who are interested in teaching and mentoring high school students in the areas of citizenship, community service, responsibility, and self-discipline, the opportunity to observe and assist with Marine fundamental instruction as an MCJROTC Instructor intern. The program is designed as a 30-61 day, student-teaching-like internship, but the applicant and host unit instructor can modify the internship length, as the situation warrants. https://www.mcjrotc.marines.mil/
Must be retiring from the Active Duty or Reserve in the grades of E-6 to E-9 and O-3 to O-6.
