The CAI DOW SkillBridge Program is designed to provide transitioning service members with hands-on exposure to commissioning, project coordination, and mission critical operations within industrial and critical facility environments. Participants will gain practical experience supporting commissioning teams, learning industry processes, and developing technical and professional skills that align with long-term careers in commissioning, operations, project management, and critical infrastructure.The program combines structured learning, shadowing opportunities, field exposure, and mentorship to prepare participants for full-time opportunities within CAI and the broader mission critical industry.

CAI is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the startup, testing, and commissioning of mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale data centers and other complex infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for candidates with either a mechanical or electrical background who are passionate about ensuring building systems are installed, tested, and operating safely and efficiently.Commissioning Engineers work closely with project managers, contractors, design teams, equipment vendors, and clients throughout the construction and commissioning process to verify systems perform according to design intent.Key ResponsibilitiesLead or support commissioning activities from construction through project turnover.Develop and execute pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests.Review construction documents, specifications, submittals, and commissioning plans.Perform field inspections and equipment walkdowns to verify installation quality.Coordinate testing activities with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.Verify mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and control systems operate as designed.Identify, document, and track deficiencies through resolution.Participate in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and overall system validation.Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, and final turnover documentation.Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, and safety standards.Travel to client sites throughout North America as project needs require.
