Job description:
NDTI is a Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned and led business committed to individual employee growth. Growth by design, charting a course for each employee through mentorship and training. This SkillBridge program will assist in training, certifications, and education to start that process. Headquartered in Ridgecrest, California, with two other offices. One located in Oxnard, California and the other in Arlington, VA. Personnel supporting multiple locations including: Point Mugu, CA; Port Hueneme, CA; Edwards Air Force Base, CA; Hill AFB, UT; Nellis AFB, NV; Schriever AFB, CO; and Cherry Point, NC. The IT Student Worker is an entry-level position that delivers on-site, hands-on, monitored customer-facing technical support. The internship provides best-practices implementation for on premise equipment and administrative functions. Much of the initial scope of work will be mentored and monitored by NDTI’s Sr. System Administrator, will include helping with on-site issues, documenting, and resolving user problems, and serving as an on-site resource. As an IT Student Intern, you must understand basic technology concepts as network printing vs. local printing, wireless access points and signal strength, understanding the basics of hardware and software, setting up a workstation, local password resets and basic network equipment. Basic knowledge of workgroups vs. domains, file and folder permissions, basic general troubleshooting and other IT tasks. While we do not expect you to know and execute all of these items, we expect you to know what they are conceptually and practically. Attitude, presentation, work ethic and reliability are the keys to success.
