The Welding Specialist Program prepares a graduate for entry-level positions in structural, pipe, and thin alloy and/ or pipeline welding. Key welding processes include SMAW, MIG, TIG, High Frequency TIG, and Flux core. The program consists of Six, 3-week courses for a total of 18 weeks, 24 semester credit hours, and 750 contact hours of instruction. Many of all new students elect the Welding Specialist program because of its specialty courses and expanded welding competencies. The Welding Specialist graduate acquires many skills and can branch off into various career and employment opportunities. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.

America is facing an unprecedented shortage in skilled labor and Industry partners are losing millions of dollars year over year directly impacting their bottom-line and the overall stability of the US economy. Nearly 50% of the skilled trades talent are at or nearing retirement age, while a majority of the remaining talent are lacking the skills necessary to meet job requirements. These underlying factors are critical gaps that endanger industry's ability to sustain a healthy bottom-line. The DOD SkillBridge Program is an excellent way for service members to start training, meet, interview with, and possibly gain employment while transitioning from military service to civilian life. Service members who participate in The Refrigeration School Welding Specialist Program to learn career skills will have an opportunity to interview with many of our industry partners from nationwide locations.
