Job description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.WHAT YOU’LL DO:• Provide support for the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.• Assist staff with the maintenance for all current desktop hardware, peripherals, operating systems, management software, etc. • Work with Help Desk and Tech Support staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from end users.• Utilize an electronic incident ticketing and tracking system for problem management and change requests as required.• Provide end-user support including system configuration and maintenance. This may include providing support to insurance agents utilizing various automation systems provided by the company.• Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems.• Recommend and / or perform upgrades on desktop systems to high availability and maximum asset utilization• Develop and maintain system documentation for desktop configuration, support procedures, system maintenance procedures, etc., utilizing established standards and guidelines• Research and recommend new technologies aimed at improving utilization of desktop technology and maximizing asset utilization

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:• Minimum 2-year degree in a Computer Science discipline.• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.• 1 - 3 years’ experience working with implementation, design, and connectivity aspects of desktop hardware and peripherals.• 3 years combined experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office software applications, and network connectivity.• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010, Windows XP, 7, Server 2003, 2008, 2012
