By establishing a federal agency dedicated exclusively to minority business enterprise, President Nixon recognized the impact of minority businesses on the nation's economy and on the general welfare of the country. Our clients are U.S. minority business enterprises (MBEs) owned and operated by African Americans, Asian Americans, Hasidic Jews, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders. Over the past 50 years we have reach many milestones. Most recently, President Biden just signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The historic legislation includes the Minority Business Development Act of 2021 making the Minority Business Development Agency permanent! Here at MBDA we continue to prove that we are passionate about ensuring that Minority Business Enterprises continue grow today by preparing them to meet the industry needs of tomorrow. In this role, you will be an integral part of managing these workflows and coordinating the standing up of several new programs and offices. You will develop a deep understanding of the mandates and authorities provided in the MBDA Act and utilize that knowledge to guide the Office of the National Director, and the greater MBDA team so strong communication in both written and verbal skills are preferred. There will be opportunities to work on projects based on our mission. You will also work closely with senior leadership at MBDA and assist in the transformation of the Agency. Job description:
Successful completion of the program may lead to a position as an Analyst, Economist, Public Affairs etc. Duties will include the following: Calendaring - full access to supervisor's calendar, email/text/phone requests to set up meetings, rearrange things on calendar if needed based on strategic priorities. Notes - joining meetings to take recap notes of action items and key decisions. Ad hoc tasks and projects for supervisor or other members of the Office of the National Director or the MBDA management team, including: Presentations - put together draft ppt presentations, edit decks, Research - Gather information from conversations, internet research, literature review, etc., Analysis - Crunch numbers and data to drive strategic insights using excel, and Project management - own or drive workstreams related to culture transformation, operational transformation, strategy, and vision. Drafting internal memorandums, drafting copy, and talking points.
