The Regional Clinical Safety Specialist reports to the Regional Manager of Clinical Safety and works closely with them to oversee clinical safety and risk‑management initiatives within the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Collaborative Just Culture framework.
Job description:
This role focuses on creating and refining processes that support safe patient care while promoting a culture of learning, improvement, teamwork, and accountability. Utilizing industry best practices and regulatory standards, the specialist proactively identifies emerging risks and operational hazards, collaborates with teams across the organization to assess risks and develop tailored mitigation strategies, and fosters continuous improvement through effective incident‑reporting processes. By engaging employees at all levels, the specialist ensures clinical safety procedures are understood and integrated into everyday operations to help prevent harm to both patients and clinicians.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in health sciences, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, or related fieldExperience in healthcare quality improvement and safety programsWorking knowledge of Power BIExperience participating in structured event review or root cause analysisAdvanced clinical certification (FP-C, CFRN, etc.) preferredExperience working in complex operational or high-acuity environments
