Job description:
Performs administrative and professional work requiring the application of accounting, and budgeting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to ensure that financial management and accounting systems produce accurate results and meet legal and regulatory requirements. The work requires the use and/or adaptation of current or proposed systems and processes and a thorough knowledge of automated financial management systems. Analyzes and administers accounting, and budget systems. Advises managers on changes in policy and program operations. Maintains controls to ensure the proper accounting and budget treatment of financial transactions. Applies judgment to interpret and evaluate general guidelines and references for local application to specific problems. Responsible for executing a segment of the organization’s financial operation and day-to-day management and administration of assigned accounts and/or financial processes. Identifies and analyzes trends in receipts, obligations, and expenditures. Monitors account levels and certifies availability of funds to ensure legal/efficient use of funding.
Specific Learning Objectives: This is a developmental position designed to provide on the job training to provide the incumbent with the knowledges, skills and/or abilities to perform at the target grade GS-12.Type of Instructional Model: On the Job Training, Mentorship and Instruction, Shadowing Instructor Qualification: USACE New England Finance and Accounting OfficerAssessments: Existing DPMAP performance plan elements Training Outcomes: Four to Six Months DoD FM Experience
