Job description:
Hyperbaric Technician at a recompression chamber
For more information, please visit www.underseaoxygenclinic.com. If selected for the internship, we will train you in an initial 40 hour course to operate a hyperbaric chamber FOR FREE. You must pass an extramural exam after the class. Then through our follow on hands on practical internship we will hone your skills and prepare you for a follow on board exam in hyperbarics such that after your internship you will be able to go anywhere in the WORLD and get a job operating a hyperbaric chamber and treating patients. We can also help you start your own center if that is what you desire! The internship is unpaid and we ask a minimum of 4 months up to 6 months. We want to help our vets land on their feet and have a possibility of moving to any area in the world with a skillset enabling them to obtain employment. We will make attempts to place you in a job following this internship but placement is not offered or guaranteed. Our facility is located in Tampa, Florida on Westshore Blvd and you can expect around 30 hours per week for your internship but we make exceptions for your all too important medical and administrative appointments as you transition from your military service. Our 'uniform of the day' of sorts is a dark or navy blue (dark blue) scrubs pant and we provide a scrubs top which has our logo on it. You can find these at almost any uniform shop for medical professionals and we suggest you don't spend a great deal of money on these but have a few pairs so they may be clean and presentable. You will be a representative of this corporation and your behavior and attitude are reflective of this business. We expect you are on time and ready to go with a thirst for knowledge, a pleasant demeanor and ready to serve your / our patients. Recall on day one you will likely be seeing patients so we want to put our best foot forward. We are all veterans here and we take care of our own. We have a keen interest in treating veterans as well and we are involved in a PTSD / TBI clinical demonstration project to show the efficacy of hyperbarics to treat. If you are interested in clinical research... we do that as well! We would like you to have as much medical training as possible through the military so if you can take online courses and get the personal qualifications classes signed off that would enhance your select ability. Special skills include but not limited to: CPR current, AED, Blood pressure cuff use, Insert and IV, Basic patient monitoring such as counting reparations and such. Finally, please send a copy of your most current resume such that we can understand you better. This should be in current format and highlight your medical qualifications. Please contact your SkillBridge coordinator and start the process. Should you need any letters or approval from us we would be glad to write it once we have the interview and see that the internship is a good match. This program has had tremendous response and is very competitive. We want to take the best qualified candidates and most of that qualification is personal drive and initiative. Upon receipt of your info and ascertaining you are a good match for this program, we will set up a time where we can do a phone interview. Prior to your phone interview, please read ONE ARTCLE from our web page (under HBOT/Indications) and be ready to discuss that article with the interviewer. Even if you have questions, we do not expect you to completely understand the topic but we expect that you do your homework.
