Telecom Underground Construction (OSP)The training program is a meticulously structured, multi-phase initiative designed to equip new employees for roles in fiber optic infrastructure construction. Starting with an Introduction and Basic Safety Training in Week 1, the program familiarizes participants with the company culture, job expectations, and essential safety protocols, including electrical safety and working at heights. This phase also includes hands-on training with tools and equipment and initiates the OSHA 10 safety training. In the subsequent weeks, the program intensifies with Weeks 2-10: Initial Field Experience and Skills Development. Weeks 11-15: Intermediate On-the-Job Training and Certification Prep. Week 16: Final Assessment, Certification, and Career Development. These phases blend theoretical learning with practical experiences, allowing trainees to shadow experienced professionals, develop basic and advanced fiber optic skills, and apply safety training in real-world scenarios. The focus is on mastering fieldwork, emergency response and advanced installation techniques, all while progressing through OSHA 10 training. The final stage culminates in assessments and certification exams. It also emphasizes career development planning. Throughout the program, continuous feedback and skill enhancement are encouraged through regular check-ins, safety audits, and reviews. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded development of technical expertise, safety awareness, and practical problem-solving skills, preparing employees for advanced roles in the industry.

The job of the aerial and underground Fiber optic lineman is to set up lines and cables, including fiber, utilizing various construction tools. The Aerial Lineman will also be in charge of inspecting any violations of previously installed infrastructure and bringing them up to code. Must be willing to travel within CO, MT, WA, ID and OR. Desired QualificationsAbility to safely work overhead using climbing hooks, ladders, and bucket lifts.
