We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to provide input on the future strategic direction for the US government’s efforts against transnational organized crime. Exposure to USG-wide strategy development and strategic intelligence across the TOC mission space, including the Law Enforcement, Intelligence communities and the White House.In this role the intern will:Conduct independent research, mission analysis, and writing in support of developing comprehensive, whole-of-government strategic planning for US government CTOC efforts. Serve as a subject matter expert from your agency for TOC-related issues, providing technical consultation for strategy development and publication. Liaise with strategy and intelligence stakeholders to inform strategy development and then validate results with field and headquarters elements. Organize and synthesis information for USCTOC-SD leadership and National Security Council (NSC) stakeholders. Facilitate interagency working groups. Develop briefing and decision materials for USCTOC-SD leadership, and the USCTOC principals.Participates in interagency planning, and program design in support of counter-TOC efforts.
