Required Skills:• Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant Hard Science with an Optics focus. • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.• Demonstrated proficiency in optics design & setup, instrumentation design & setup, data capture & analysis.• Demonstrated proficiency using tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Image / Data Acquisition software, and Microsoft Office Suite.• Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of optical metrology equipment.• Ability to travel ~10% timeDesired Skills:• Security clearance• Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test optical systems for high energy lasers.• Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test electrical circuits related to the operation and control of optical systems.• Demonstrated ability to assist customers with sensor recommendation.• Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute high energy laser lethality experiments.• Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding, rapidly changing test environment.• Physics and modeling experience with laser / material interaction.• Experience performing thermal modeling & analysis.
