DoW SkillBridge Internship OpportunityProgram Manager (GS-11)U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Office of Field Operations (OFO)IMPORTANT NOTEThis opportunity is OUTSIDE of USAJOBS.gov and ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates who are AT LEAST 11 months AWAY from military separation to be considered and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active-duty.WHY 11 MONTHS?CBP can host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.LOCATIONSan Francisco, CAMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThorough knowledge of analytical tools and methodology to provide a knowledge ofmanagement issues and programs for: the development and/or implementation of laws, policies and regulations; resolving broad and/or complex planning, evaluation, control, and resource allocation problems; and an ability to provide advice to parties dealing with various management levels throughout the agency.Demonstrated interpersonal and administrative skills, sufficient to organize and coordinate thorough, systematic, professional efforts to meet the organization's planning needs and requirements, and to provide written and oral reports with conclusions, alternatives and recommendations on policies, projects, or studies for the agency.Ability to plan and organize and support personal, team and task force efforts across organizational lines, including the ability to monitor progress to ensure that realistic objectives and milestones are established, to clearly assign responsibilities, and to get mission requirements accomplished in a timely manner.Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, and an ability to grasp conceptual ideas and exercise original thought where there is an established time limit for deliberation,consultation and evaluation, and to present well considered and sound suggestions.Work includes a variety of duties, which require different and non-related processes or methods. The incumbent compiles data from studies, performs analysis of a variety of programmatic information from several sources, and interprets guideline materials.
