Engineering Services at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System (RHJVAHCS) has expanded faster than anticipated and the need for people skilled in the trades has increased. This growth presents an opportunity to help our Veteran population and recruit new employees that believe in the VA mission. The Skill Bridge Program can help RHJVAHCS meet these new demands by training qualified Service members, giving them the skills to advance their career and transition seamlessly into civilian life, while also helping the RHJVAHCS succeed in fulfilling its mission.
Job description:
Serves as an Equipment & Facility Services Assistant (EFSA) in the Engineering section of the Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center. Is assigned primary responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, control and administration of a comprehensive computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). As an EFSA, the individual coordinates work priorities and takes policy direction from the Section Supervisors.Utilizes a CMMS such as MAXIMO, to provide system control, oversight, repair history, analysis and quality of the data entered, and documentation of historical, current, and future maintenance operations for the ongoing maintenance program at the Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center on various assets (i.e. equipment and spaces).Utilizes the CMMS to issue and schedule routine and non-routine maintenance, repair and replacement of all equipment, machinery, etc. Ensures critical information regarding maintenance on the piece of equipment is documented in the maintenance system and attached to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) or Corrective Maintenance (CM) work order.Performs general program support functions involving the collection, compilation and/or tracking of data and program information and statistical information in support of the program operations.
