Job description:
As an over-the-road, Heavy Haul/OS/OD Driver, you will operate specialized trailers (lowboys, RGNs, Wind specific tower and blade trailers, and multi-axle configurations) to safely transport oversized and overweight loads — including wind turbine components, data center components, industrial equipment, and other specialized cargo — across state and federal highways. Responsibilities include:• Safely operating tractor-trailer combinations hauling OS/OD loads in compliance with FMCSA and state DOT regulations• Planning and executing permitted routes, including pilot car coordination and escort requirements• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle/load inspections• Securing and staging specialized cargo per load-specific requirements• Maintaining accurate logs, permits, and delivery documentation• Communicating with dispatch, customers, and site personnel throughout transport• Upholding a strong safety culture consistent with military driving disciplineThis program offers a pathway into the highest paying segment of the US trucking industry, travel opportunities, and a direct career path into the growing heavy-haul logistics sector supporting energy, infrastructure, and industrial markets.
In person training may be held at Hill College, located in Hillsboro, TX, or at Ft. Hood, TX.

Candidates must meet one of the following experience pathways:Active Duty / Transitioning Service Members: MOS 88M (Motor Transport Operator) with Heavy Equipment Operator AIT training and documented military heavy-equipment/HET driving experience, orNational Guard / Army Reserve Candidates: Current civilian CDL-A licensure with verifiable driving experience in lieu of active-duty 88M/HET backgroundAll candidates must meet standard DoD SkillBridge eligibility requirements (within 180 days of separation, command approval, etc.) and pass Legion1 Logistics' DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening, including background check, MVR review, and drug/alcohol testing.
