Lead Technician, Research & Development-Consumer Foods:In this role you will leverage and enhance your understanding of food science to support the experimental work of day-to-day applied research, including sanitation, maintenance, operation of equipment, food and personnel safety, and quality. Your work is hands-on in a Process Research Lab (PRL), on a computer, or with vendors/ contractors. These tasks are a vital part of the process of evaluating new hypotheses and formula, product, process, and packaging designs. Job description:
• Direct support of R&D tests, including equipment assembly/disassembly, equipment operation, equipment sanitation, and assistance in batching, processing, and packaging of product. Also includes housekeeping tasks such as removing scrap product and materials.• Indirect support of R&D activities, including facility sanitation, maintenance of equipment, handling freight, and managing storage areas, ingredients, and supplies.• Creating, reviewing, and editing of documentation, and keeping records that are accurate and current. Includes planning and tracking work in software programs such as eMaint.• Participating in the Key Element system as a team member and/or team lead. Implementing KE requirements, audits and inspections, and audit/inspection follow-ups. • Working with vendors and contractors to complete equipment and facility upgrades and repairs.
