At Car-Graph, we are specialists in the design and manufacture of carbon-graphite components for the aerospace industry. We create seals, rings, and other parts for propulsion systems, auxiliary power units, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. In the Car-Graph Internship Program you will learn will to set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes and milling machines to make metal and carbon-graphite parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions. You will learn to interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of set up; use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled.
