Through this program, TWW is seeking one (1) participant for an excellent opportunity for making and selling high quality wine, preparing individuals to perform specific tasks by providing information about the task; demonstrations of how the tasks are performed; opportunities for the individuals to perform the tasks; and assessments of everyone’s level of performance. TWW offers a safe workplace and learning experience that assists participants to prepare for employment by observing and performing, within the employer’s operating environment, the work activities performed by members of the employer’s workforce.
Job description:
This position works directly with our Vineyard Manager, with mentorship opportunities with our vignerons, sommeliers, vintners, viticulturists, enologists, sales team, and farm engineers, learning to facilitate daily harvest and winemaking duties. Interns will work with members of the cellar and lab to achieve daily milestones. Paired with the employer’s workforce, our interns will learn how to cultivate vineyards for winemaking; crush and press grapes; monitor the settling of juice and the fermentation of grape material; analyze grape quality; coordinate process of wine making; pair wine; manage vineyard and winery operations; conduct wine tastings; breed and evaluate new varieties of grapes, and participate in trade, wine club, and event sales.Minimum Qualifications:• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to strict safety procedures.• Interested in a career in Enology and/or Viticulture or related field.• Excellent organizational and communication skills – oral and written.• Technically capable (especially MS Office applications).• Punctual, responsible, and motivated. • Candidates must be eligible to work in the US. • Must be at least 21 years of age.Preferred Qualifications:• Previous harvest experience in winery and/or farm culture.• Previous culinary, brewery, food, or farm production experience. • Previous winemaking and cellar experience preferred. Previous forklift experience preferred.• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.• Solid knowledge and interest of plant care and maintenance related to grapevines.• Possess a knowledge and passion for wine.• Well-developed wine tasting skills.• Familiar with Vintrace® or equivalent Cloud software for winemakers.
