DoD SkillBridge – NETA Field Service Technician TraineeTransition your military electrical experience into a high-demand career in electrical testing and power systems.Shermco Industries is seeking Active Duty service members with experience in electrical systems, power generation and distribution, electronics, controls, instrumentation, or related technical fields for our DoD SkillBridge NETA Field Service Technician Training Program.Participants will train alongside experienced Shermco technicians and gain hands-on experience testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems at industrial and commercial customer locations.Prior NETA certification is not required. We are looking for service members with a strong electrical or technical foundation who are ready to translate their military experience into the civilian electrical testing industry.
Job description:
Program HighlightsHands-on training with experienced NETA Field Service TechniciansExposure to switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, cable testing, electrical troubleshooting, and commissioningTraining on electrical systems ranging from 480V to 600kVOpportunity to begin building toward NETA technician certificationShermco-provided lodging during the SkillBridge training periodOne-way transportation to the approved training/work location for selected participantsPotential pathway into a full-time Shermco Field Service Technician career following successful completion of SkillBridgeThe goal of the program is to develop transitioning service members for long-term careers with Shermco. Full-time employment following SkillBridge is not guaranteed and is based on successful program completion, performance, qualifications, available opportunities, and business needs.
Open to eligible Active Duty service members nationwide. Candidates do not need to currently reside near a Shermco training location. Selected participants may train in Kansas City, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, or Chicago based on candidate preference, available opportunities, and business needs. Shermco will provide one-way transportation to the approved training/work location and lodging during the SkillBridge training period.
Eligibility factors:
All Services
Army Prime Power, Interior Electricians and Power Generation; Navy Electrician's Mates, Construction Electricians/Seabees, GSE, IC and ET; Air Force Electrical Power Production and Electrical Systems; Marine Corps Electricians and Electrical Systems Technicians; Coast Guard Electrician's Mates and Electronics Technicians; and other military occupations with hands-on electrical power, generation, distribution, testing, controls, or troubleshooting experience.
