Job description:
Key Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and provide technical support for wireless communications equipment, including UHF/VHF and 700/800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, including P25 and DMR.Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems utilizing both conventional and trunked radio technologies.Diagnose and repair less complex equipment, such as mobile and base station transmitters and receivers, antennas, pagers, public address equipment, security equipment, and voice recorders.Diagnose, analyze, and optimize the performance of more complex communications systems and equipment, including fixed and mobile radio systems, comparator systems, radio paging systems, dispatch consoles, portable transmitters, sirens, and related equipment.Recommend suitable hardware and peripheral equipment that meets customer requirements.

Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of formal education in electronics is preferred.At least 3 years of paid experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.Strong background in land mobile radio systems.Proficiency in point-to-point microwave carrier systems.Experience operating various test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters.Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.Familiarity with battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, and duplexers.Knowledge and understanding of computer networks, wiring standards, and protocols, including IP telephony.Ability to relocate electronic test equipment weighing up to 55 pounds.Excellent customer service skills and resourcefulness in problem-solving.Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, unstructured environment with minimal supervision.Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support customers.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately.Efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.Proficiency with a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
