Overview:  Job Title – Operation Dream Landing Intern Job Description – Interns will be placed into onramp careers that match with their interests and aspirational goals. On-the-job training will be completed for up to 40 hours per week. Positions are offered in every field, in locations across the USA. Dream2Career works with local, small, and medium sized businesses to provide unique career-related learning experiences that lead to stable, comfortable, work-life balanced positions. Length of Training – 180 Days  Timeline – Six months On-the Job Training in Onramp Position, Career Coaching, and Micro-Dripped Training in areas including Sales & Marketing, Leadership & Team Building, Administration & Trades, Safety & Compliance, Finance & Analytics, Management, Health & Personal Growth, Innovation, and Customer Relations. Content also includes the Internet of Things, AI and Cybersecurity.  Titles – HIF LOGIC Assessment, On-Ramp Internship, Career Mentorship, Maven Skills Training, Specialist Skills Training, Visionary Skills Training, Naturalist Skills Training, Processor Skills Training, and Protector Skills Training. Specific Learning Objectives – Interns will have the opportunity to explore personal interests and integrate them into specific job requirements. Interns will discover personal strengths, weaknesses, and the strength of our differences through on-the-job training as they make connections to local resources through personal and professional development experiences.  Type of Instructional Model – Hybrid  Instructor Qualification (Mentorship) – Dr. Kathleen Houlihan, college professor, business leader, workforce expert, and creator of the HIF Logic meets with interns at least monthly, and, as needed throughout the program. Interns meet with career coaches and fellow interns weekly.  Assessments – HIF Logic Survey, Micro-Drip Course Assessment, and Bi-Monthly Employer Assessment Evaluation of intern’s performance with standardized grading rubric. Training Outcome – Intern will have an onramp position and an academic plan that directs candidates to best-fit opportunities for continuing their studies with the use of their GI Bill. Month 1 – HIF LOGIC Assessment, On-Ramp Position, Maven Skills Training • Complete the HIF LOGIC Assessment. Tour through multiple career options that match intern’s career signal. Complete the onboarding process, meet employees, and match intern with a career coach.Micro-Drip Learning Content • Be a Leader – Are leaders made or born? The answer is likely a little of both, but everyone can become more effective in leadership roles. From dealing with your kid’s soccer coach to being lead on a project at work, leadership skills help to achieve results in the most positive ways. Leadership is a Maven Trait that will be explored this month. • Be a Communicator- Everyone has ideas, but it is the people who can convey information simply, succinctly, and with conviction who are the most successful. Learning how to communicate effectively will help every aspect of your life. • Be Creative- Learn to discover beauty in unusual places and find your artistic side. Mavens think outside of the box and bring excitement and, at times, chaos to every situation. Training Objective 1: Onramp intern into a position that matches interns desired location, interests, and aspirational goals. Intern will understand maven skills including leadership, creativity, and communication.Month 2 – Career Mentorship, Internship, Specialists Skills Training • Intern will be working up to 40 hours per week in the onramp position. • Intern will be guided to resources and will perform on-the-job training for the specific role. Micro-Drip Learning Content • Be Systematic – Those who can work effectively in systematic environments provide the backbone to any organization. These workers gain a sense of accomplishment when tasks move smoothly over the critical path, they embrace routines and relish when things go as planned. Learning to think like a specialist will keep your career on track and maximize your productivity. • Be a Technician- In the past, people changed their own oil, fixed their heating units, and made pies from scratch. Learning to fix things on your own saves time and money. Learn to be self-sufficient so you never need to worry if/when systems breakdown. Specialist traits provide self-satisfaction for a job well done. • Learn Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – Many specialist careers require you to be able to fix the problems when they occur. However, being able to fix the system, so the problem doesn’t happen again is what companies really want. If you can understand RCA; the who, what, when, where, and why, you will become invaluable to any organization. Training Objective 2: Intern begins to form a solid foundation of skills that allow them to feel basic level of confidence in practices and can showcase skills without professional assistance. Intern understands specialist traits, how to be a systematic technician who uses RCA.Month 3 - Career Mentorship, Internship, Visionary Skills Training• Intern will be working up to 40 hours per week in the onramp position. • Intern will be guided to resources and will perform on-the-job training for the specific role. Micro-Drip Learning Content • Be a Deep Thinker – Visionaries go beyond RCA; they study problems and use science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) along with experience to create new ideas, meaning, and innovations that move society forward. Visionary courses will help you to channel deep thinking approaches and you will have the opportunity to consider becoming your own boss or using research methods to advance within your current role. • See the Big Picture – In addition to creating new meaning, visionaries understand how their design impacts others and they can integrate their solutions into the current system so they can provide the greatest impact to the world around them. Training Objective 3: Intern begins to form a stronger understanding of self and starts to envision their pathway to success. Intern understands visionary traits, how to be a deep thinker, see the big picture and explore business ownership. Career coaches will introduce interns to opportunities for incubators, certificates, badges, 2- and 4-year academic programs that match aspirational goals.Month 4 – Career Mentorship, Internship, Naturalist Skills Training – Material & personnel management job site training.• Intern will be working up to 40 hours per week in the onramp position. • Intern will be guided to resources and will perform on-the-job training for the specific role. Micro-Drip Learning Content • Be Empathetic – Being able to understand what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes is something children understand; it is innate to being human. However, as we grow, sadness, jealously, hate, and disappointment often keep us from feeling empathy towards others. Mastering empathy will bring meaning to your life and increase your value in all social settings. • Be a Researcher – Like visionaries, naturalists use the hard sciences and information, but Naturalists are more interested in using content to help others to succeed. The focus is on solving societal problems and guiding others on their pathway to success. • Be a Caregiver – Naturalists care about people, places, and causes. They seek out balance and mutual respect. Naturalist traits are learned this month. Training Objective 4: Intern begins to form a stronger need to help others and to understand human psychology. Intern begins using naturalist traits, using empathy, understanding societal norms, and caring for others. Career coaches will introduce opportunities to help others which might include mentoring interns or leading others at work. Month 5 - Career Mentorship, Internship, Processor Skills Training • Intern will be working up to 40 hours per week in the onramp position. • Intern will be guided to resources and will perform on-the-job training for the specific role. Micro-Drip Learning Content • Be Organized – Processors are focused first on the rules and the data. They understand how to structure the process so that resources are aligned with the project SCOPE. • Be a Manager – Managers understand how to monitor the people and the process to make sure projects are completed on-time and within budget. • Be an Implementor – Processors understand how to use frameworks and ensure that projects are successfully implemented. They hold themselves accountable while recognizing timelines, personal conflicts, and collaboration opportunities. Training Objective 5: Intern begins to form an understanding of the process, their role within the organization, and how to successfully move projects through to completion. Intern begins using processor traits including organization, management, and program implementation. Career coaches will introduce opportunities to manage projects through the ODL project and at work. Month 6 – Career Mentorship, Internship, Protector Skills Training and Career Discussion – evaluate performance of intern and likely offer full time position provided intern meets requirements.• Intern will be working up to 40 hours per week in the onramp position. • Intern will be guided to resources and will perform on-the-job training for the specific role. Micro-Drip Learning Content • Create Security - Protecting people, places, things, and data are fundamentally important to our national security. Careers in cybersecurity are emerging and protector content will illustrate how to keep your family and communities safe. • Create Policy – Writing a comprehensive policy that protects and provides rules to live by help to make everyone feel safe. This month will cover written and unwritten rules and ethics. • Be Honest – The current climate places very little stock in the truth. Advertisements and the news are designed to shock readers. Protector months will provide information on how to check sources, to be honest, and to be accountable to the truth as we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Training Objective 6: Candid evaluations of the intern’s performance will be held along with a very probable job offer. The Intern should expect to understand strengths, weaknesses, strength of differences and where the intern would fit into the business. Potential salary and benefit packages will be discussed and projected for planning purposes. Interns will understand protector traits including creating secure environments and how to be ethical in their personal and professional life. Training Outcomes: Operation Dream Landing Certification Intern will have an onramp position and an academic plan that directs candidates to best-fit opportunities for continuing their studies with the GI Bill.
