Summary description:
The Department of Defense has approved WestRock to offer unique career opportunities to military service members in transition. The WestRock Warriors SkillBridge Program is a 90-day training program located at select manufacturing plant locations across the U.S. During the program, Associates will be trained in various disciplines as it pertains to the operations of a paper and packaging plant. Training curriculum includes operations, maintenance, production, shipping/receiving, quality, and safety. Prior to the completion of the 90-day program, Associates will be given an opportunity to interview for a full-time position at the plant. The goal of the program is to convert servicemembers to full-time opportunities as 1st Line Supervisors and Manager roles at WestRock. Opportunities will be at the participating plant locations.
Job description:
Participating locations include: Mooresville, NC, Winston-Salem, NC, Ravenna, OH, Cleveland, OH, North Tonawanda, NY, Camillus, NY, Deer Park, NY, Lancaster, PA, Aston, PA, Fort Worth, TX. Program Requirements. Candidates must be in their last 180 days of service prior to end of active-duty service. Preferred candidates will be in their last 90-120 days of active duty to ensure conversion following the SkillBridge Program. Rank preferences are JR NCO, SR NCO, Warrant Officers and JMO. Military experience in logistics, operations, warehouse, quality, maintenance, safety, process improvement, and/or related backgrounds is required. Must be able to relocate to the selected plant location. Candidates must complete a WestRock SkillBridge Program survey.
