Job description:
This SkillBridge opportunity is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration, Office of the Chief Operations Officer, Contingency Operations Division (COD). The mission of COD is to ensure all EOP staff are prepared for a potential emergency on the White House Complex and can continue essential functions in the event of any potential disruption to normal operations, regardless of threat or condition. Our work includes training EOP staff on emergency procedures, developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans and materials, managing emergency equipment and life safety assets, writing and maintaining continuity plans, ensuring continuity team readiness, conducting exercises, and managing alternate facilities. The SkillBridge intern will assist with emergency preparedness and continuity planning, training, and exercises. This will help prepare the intern for a potential future career in federal service or a role in business continuity in the private sector. The intern will hone their analytical and writing skills, revise continuity plans and emergency procedures, deliver training, and gain experience developing and implementing programs that support national continuity policy and federal mission resilience.
OA supports the President of the United States and the EOP through the execution of finance, information technology, human resources, facilities management, logistics, procurement, security, and legal services.
