DOD SkillBridge Schedule: First week: Participant's home office Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 3 days performing onboarding tasks, 2 days of mechanical/electrical systems training. Second week: Participant's home office Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 5 days of mechanical/electrical systems training. Third week: Participant's home office Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 3 days of mechanical/electrical systems training, Commissioning (Cx) process training. Fourth week: Participant's home office Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 5 days of Cx process trainin. Fifth-Seventh weeks: Field data center Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 5 days of on-the-job Cx process training. Eighth-ninth weeks: Field data center Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - 5 days of on-the-job Cx process evaluation. Tenth-twelfth+ weeks: Field data center Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM - Field support engineering role for data center Cx. Complete qualifications as Cx Engineer-1.
Job description:
COMMISSIONING ENGINEER has a technical background and in-depth expertise with the commissioning process including verification techniques, functional performance testing, critical power equipment and O&M knowledge. The role of the Commissioning Engineer is to act as a third-party authority systematically verifying that electrical nd mechanical systems are functioning in accordance with the design intent and Owner's Project Requirements (OPR). Some of the actions of the Engineer will include verification and testing during all 5 levels of commissioning, as per ASHRAE Guideline 0. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with bid and proposal development, Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with Clients / Engineers of Record / GC's / Subs / Vendors, Understand and effectively communicate the Cx process in meetings as needed, Develop Cx procedures with use of a template, customizing based on drawings and SOO, Assist PM with Cx Schedule development, Assist in the development of TAB Verification plan, Conduct TAB Verification as directed, Deploy data loggers in the proper areas for required data collection with direction, Assist PM with adjusting Cx schedule due to failures or equipment readiness changes, Assist with developing load bank requirements plan for an entire project (size, quantity, special connection requirements), Assist with verifying requirements and scheduling necessary test equipment for a project, Hook up PQM test equipment on all types of data center equipment, Operate (unassisted) PQM test equipment on all types of data center equipment, Coordinate and execute functional testing with support of team members, Fill in a daily onsite testing log, Perform infrared (IR) scanning/analysis and record data in spreadsheet, Mark IR Photos, Record PQM data in spreadsheet, Capture screenshots from PQM software, Assist with report development , QA/QC procedures, QA/QC written reports, QA/QC IR reports, QA/QC PQM reports and snapshots, Assist with developing a test plan for a non-standard product (Site Refresh, Non-Data Center/Mission Critical Facility)

Eligibility factors:

General understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical systems, Must have a dedicated home office that is conducive to daily responsibilities, Must be able to move about the work area (including ladder usage) and travel to worksites as needed or required, Must be able to carry inspection and test equipment from 30-50 pounds, Must be able to frequently perform physical activity including but not limited to: standing for eight hours at a time, moving in rugged or unstable conditions, working in adverse weather, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls which may not be visible, reach overhead, Must be able to wear personal protective equipment: hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety gloves, and safety shoes, Must report to work on time, Must follow company and site rules and regulations, Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, equipment and site drawings, specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Perform and record results for inspections, examinations, and tests, Use tools and equipment required for inspection and testing, Effectively write and communicate reports and correspondence, Coordinate with internal and external personnel for day-to-day activities, Operate, inspect, and test large-scale data center equipment, Develop procedures for inspection and testing, Review inspection and test procedures
