Owen Industries Welder: Essential Functions• Weld in accordance to customer specifications, weld procedures, & dimensions indicated on drawings.• Preheat, cut, & clean pieces as required. • Identify steel shapes, sizes, & mill tolerances• Read shop drawings & take measurements to plan layout & proper procedures.• Fabricate sub-pieces for overall assembly.• Maintain quality standards against job specifications / industry standards & reports deviations.Expectations• Regular attendance and punctuality• Promotes safe working conditions• Support & encourage other team members in a positive work environment.• Achieve the required quality standards.• Achieve on-time delivery to internal & external customers.• Participate & support Continuous Improvement Programs & other company initiatives.

Preferred Education and Experience• Experience as a welder preferred.• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.• Ability to read and comprehend shop drawings. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
