Summary description:
The goal of this internship is to provide the DoD SkillBridge Intern with the training necessary to successfully find employment in a Fire Rescue role in the state of Florida. By leveraging the interns experience and Alachua County Fire Departments training a career with the company could begin as soon as the intern departs active duty. This internship will take place in two locations including an orientation period at the Fire Department in Gainesville, FL and an advanced training period at the Florida Gateway Fire College in Sanderson, FL.
Job description:
There are two primary entry level positions common for new hires interested in Alachua County Fire Rescue. Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/PM and Rescue Lieutenant.

Have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Complete a physical examination. Pass a detailed background check and drug screen.
