Explore the mapThe Geisinger Military Fellowship Program is actively seeking service members with a background in electronic or electro-mechanical equipment service and repair. The Program is designed to provide transitioning Service members a workplace learning experience through on the job training with current employees. Fellows will work side by side with employees in specific career areas to transfer knowledge and experience, while gaining a greater understanding of the healthcare system and operations. In addition to technical job experience, Fellows will participate in professional and career development sessions and network with Geisinger's veteran community and leaders.
JOB SUMMARY: To perform inspection, preventative maintenance and low level repair of medical equipment. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ADMINISTRATIVE --Maintains records of each work assignment -Reads technical journal and literature related to job field -Reads and interprets instructional and maintenance manuals and schematic diagrams related to equipment service -Participates in organized education and training activities to upgrade job knowledge and job performance -Must be able to travel as necessary to perform the technical tasks below -Performs any and all tasks within his/her capabilities as may be required to help meet overall corporate objectives. TECHNICAL--Operates basic test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, safety analyzers, ESU analyzers, -Defibrillator analyzers and physiological input simulators -Performs simple electronic component removal and replacement -Inspects, replaces as necessary: patient cables, transducers, lamps, fuses, line cords and line connectors -Within six to nine months, should be prepared to assume on-call repair responsibilities
