Job description:
Radiation Technician Calibration Technician Training Specialist
Qal-Tek Associates is a small business founded in 1998 as a calibration laboratory for radiation detection and measurement instrumentation. Our founders were some of the most experienced instrumentation professionals in the radiation measurement space, having founded the DOE Health Physics Instrumentation Committee (HPIC) as well as participation in many of the national ANSI standards for radiation measurement. This expertise has been transferred into a legacy of deep radiological expertise in instrumentation, calibration, maintenance, repair and all supporting operations using radiation detection and measurement instruments. This expertise includes complex operations in response, compliance, and environmental operations. Today, QTA serves over 3500 clients across the globe for instrumentation, radiological consulting, and radiological and nuclear operations. This includes thousands of radiological material shipments and projects as well as over 150 thousand pieces of equipment serviced annually. This complex coordination of quality standards, regulatory compliance, shipping, deadline tracking, and contract performance management, all require a proven logistical and management structure to ensure consistent compliance, delivery, and quality. To achieve this, Qal-Tek has developed a robust management structure which incorporates planning, tracking and technical involvement in a cooperative project delivery system. Our team consists of Health Physicist, engineers, military and first responders as well as specific experience in technical and high-level radiological operations and proven operational and systems design. QTA’s resume includes a vast expertise in radiological operations when supporting radiation control projects such as radiological response reach back support, program compliance assessments, training and exercise support, technical planning, program development, source recovery and disposal, site remediation/management, and instrumentation testing and evaluation. QTA maintains one of the most expansive licensing structures in the industry to deliver complex yet flexible capability with (1) Broad Scope Type NRC license, four (4) State radioactive material licenses (AL, AZ, GA, and TX), current radioactive material license reciprocities in over 30 States and the infrastructure and capability to obtain and manage reciprocity in all 50 States in support of Off-Site Source Recovery Program (OSRP) activities and activities as required by this RFP. Our capabilities, experience and expertise enable QTA to provide support to OSRP for recovery operations overseas and domestically. This experience and expertise has allowed QTA to create a vast network of domestic and international relationships to assist with tradesman and specific capabilities necessary to ensure project success as related to this scope of work required in this RFP.
