Summary description:
There is no cost for participants for training, books or materials. Travel to and from training, housing, room, board, and transportation during training are the responsibility of the participant. There are four methods of delivery available for Inside Electrician. In-person training in San Diego is a 7 week, day school format covering the full first year apprenticeship curriculum resulting in possible advanced placement in apprenticeship. In addition, there is an online math course scheduled prior to the first day of virtual classroom training. There is no stipend or living expense provided for inside electrician programs.
Job description:
Inside Electrical workers install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in homes, businesses and factories. Electrical workers work indoors and outdoors in nearly every type of facility. Almost all electricians work full time, which may include evenings and weekends. Outside Linemen ensure that electrical power is properly distributed from power plant generation facilities to end-users. They are responsible for the installation and maintenance of all types of power transmission and distribution systems for industrial, commercial, and residential markets. Electrical workers learn their trade through a registered apprenticeship program that is typically low cost or no cost to the student. A high-school diploma or equivalent is required to begin your apprenticeship and career in the trade. Most jurisdictions require Inside Electricians to be licensed by the state or local governmental agency as applicable, the apprenticeship is designed to result in licensure. All participants have guaranteed job placement after completion, end of service and relocation.
