AFJROTC will provide retiring and separating Airmen and Guardians who are interested in teaching and mentoring high school students in the areas of citizenship, community service, responsibility, and self-discipline, the opportunity to observe and assist with air and space fundamentals instruction as an AFJROTC Instructor intern. Job description:
Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI), Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) Instructors are all retired or separated military members of the Department of the Air Force. Normally, one retired/separated officer and one retired/separated enlisted member are employed by the school at each program. While Air Force Junior ROTC instructors are retired/separated military members, they continue to wear their Air Force uniform (at their retired grade) in the performance of their duties. As such, instructors are required to meet and maintain uniform wear, grooming, and weight standards during their tenure as instructors.

Eligibility factors:
Air Force
All applicants must have reached a minimum of 10 years of satisfactory military service. Applicants must have a current grade of E6-E9 or O3-O6. Note: Recently commissioned officers who met all criteria to apply while they were enlisted ay apply as O1-O2. Applicants must have achieved a minimum of an associate's degree (any discipline). Note: some schools may require a bachelor's degree minimum for full-time employment.
