Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI), Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) Instructors are all retired or separated military members of the Department of the Air Force. Normally, one retired/separated officer and one retired/separated enlisted member are employed by the school at each program. While Air Force Junior ROTC instructors are retired/separated military members, they continue to wear their Air Force uniform (at their retired grade) in the performance of their duties. As such, instructors are required to meet and maintain uniform wear, grooming, and weight standards during their tenure as instructors.
