Job description:
What You’ll Do (Mission Responsibilities)You will apply your cybersecurity experience to support defensive operations, incident response, and continuous improvement of security posture. Typical responsibilities include:Cyber Defense & Incident Response- Monitor systems and networks for cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity- Respond to security incidents using established incident response procedures- Support containment, recovery, and post‑incident analysis- Security Operations & Policy Execution- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, standards, and procedures- Support enforcement of security policies to protect systems, applications, and data- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions- Risk Assessment & Mission Planning- Identify and assess cybersecurity risks to systems and operations- Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce operational and business impact- Contribute to forward‑looking security planning, research, and innovationTechnical Support & Cross‑Team Coordination- Provide technical support for security‑related issues and troubleshooting- Work closely with IT, engineering, and business teams to integrate security into operations- Support cybersecurity projects and continuous improvement initiativesAreas of Experience That Translate Well- Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly relevant (military and civilian experience welcomed):Cyber incident response and digital forensics- Network and system security (defensive operations)- Vulnerability assessment and remediation- Cyber risk analysis and threat intelligence- Security testing of applications, systems, or products- Cyber policy, compliance, and security standards- Cyber training, awareness, or operational readiness- IoT, software assurance, or secure system engineeringLevel of Responsibility- Experienced professional who applies established cybersecurity practices to solve moderately complex problems- Works independently on assigned missions with limited supervision- Makes decisions that impact system security, operational efficiency, timelines, and customer trustCollaborates primarily within the team and with senior leaders across the organizationQualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field- Military training and experience may be considered in place of a degree- Experience: 2+ years of hands‑on cybersecurity, IT security, or cyber operations experience- Certifications: Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, or similar certifications may be required for some assignmentsMilitary Veterans Encouraged to ApplyRelevant experience may include Cyber Operations, Signal, Intelligence, Communications, Network Operations, or Information Assurance roles
