Job description:
As an AOD, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact during your assigned shift, ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of the entire facility. You’ll work closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team and program leadership to respond to non-routine situations, support staff coordination, and maintain program integrity. Your responsibilities will include overseeing shift staffing, directing staff in crisis scenarios, facilitating transportation logistics, inspecting the campus grounds, and monitoring compliance in all program areas.You’ll be instrumental in maintaining a calm, structured environment, coordinating emergency drills, managing call-outs, responding to incidents, and guiding teams through high-stakes or unexpected events. Whether you’re checking on facility safety, supervising youth indirectly through staff, or ensuring reports and protocols are followed after an incident, your presence and leadership will help ensure the campus remains a safe, therapeutic space for healing.This SkillBridge role provides real-world experience in operational leadership, safety oversight, crisis response, and team supervision in a residential treatment environment—skills that are highly transferable to civilian careers in human services, public safety, nonprofit management, or education.
