Job description:
Maintains order and protects life and property by enforcing local, tribal, state, or federal laws and ordinances.Key Activities: Patrolling, investigating crimes/accidents, apprehending suspects, testifying in court, and conducting traffic stops. Actively participate in community engagement activities.

Iowa Peace Officer Minimum Standards (Iowa Code Chapter 80B)Must be a U.S. citizen.Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment as a peace officer.Must possess a high school diploma or GED; college coursework is preferred but not required.Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain eligibility to operate a motor vehicle.Must not have been convicted of a felony or any crime that would disqualify certification under Iowa law.Must be of good moral character as determined through a comprehensive background investigation.
