Summary description:
This Pastoral Residency provides practical experience in a mid-sized church (500 members) and multidisciplinary ministry context, allowing interns to apply theoretical knowledge in a professional environment. Residents will engage in hands-on projects, receive mentorship, and develop key professional skills. In particular, residents will teach a lesson to children, youth, and adults. They will oversee Sunday teams (ushers, greeters, assimilation process), participate in church-wide events, and plan for church-wide events. Residents will have access to all pastoral staff and have designated time in each type of ministry. Residents will have the opportunity to lead a ministry event with coaching from the pastoral staff.
Job description:
Create, recruit, train and care for weekend serving teams and their leaders.Identify and invite new potential weekend serving team leaders into positions of leadership that will enhance New Song’s ability to serve our members. Develop and maintain our Disciple-making process and culture.Develop and deploy NS disciple-making path (TBD).Develop, train and coach for NS leaders in Next Steps/ disciple making processDevelop, protect and embed NS DNA in leaders, volunteers, attenders and programs.Primary responsibility is to develop and expand New Song’s Groups ministry (Life Groups and Specialty Groups) and discipleship process with a goal of 80% of New Song’s adult weekend attendance into groups/classes.Oversee specific team leaders in fulfilling New Song Mission and StrategyOversee Next Steps, VIP, Hospitality, Connection Café, Greeters & Ushers, Parking, for example.Oversee Communications and Marketing.Other duties as assigned by Executive Pastor
