Candidates for this and every DoD SkillBridge internship opportunity with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are able to intern for 180, 120, and 90 days and MUST be at least 11 MONTHS away from (outside of) separation. Why 11 months? We are able to host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR actions to include getting them in front of hiring managers, having interviews conducted, selection decisions being made, “Qualifications Reviews” successfully completed on their resumes clearly demonstrating that they have the required experience, etc. for the positions for which they are being considered, along with a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.SkillBridge Internship Opportunity Management and Program Analyst (Strategic Planner (GS-0343-12/13) NON-REMOTE/IN-PERSON ONLY (some telework available) U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of International Affairs-Assistant Commissioners Staff Location: Washington, D.C. LOCATION: Washington, DC MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supporting the CBP Office of International Affairs leadership by completing a wide range of analytical projects and studies on behalf of the Organization. Developing, planning, conducting, and participating in DHS and CBP strategy initiatives. Planning, developing, and coordinating briefings, presentations, and drafting materials for leadership. Providing strategic guidance to INA leadership on new or proposed legislation, executive orders, Department directives and other organizational agency decisions that impact CBP and INA. Managing and coordinating internal and external information requests from Government Accountability Office (GAO), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Management Inspection Division (MID), for all INA audit and investigation activities.
