The Commercial Electrical Construction Technician TCC is designed for careers in the electrical construction industry. A combination of basic concepts, theory, and practical application is utilized to develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills. Topics addressed in the training include but are not limited to industrial safety procedures, the National Electrical Code, commercial load calculations, three phase power systems, and fundamentals of AC motor control. The program provides guaranteed interviews. Regardless of where the soldier relocates, this program serves as a pre-apprenticeship program where they can continue on-the-job training until fully qualified as a journeyman. Graduates earn 19 college credits.
Job description:
Electrician Responsibilities: Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems. Perform general electrical maintenance. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices
Lodging provided by Robins AFB in a contingency dorm at no cost. Single room, shared bath with same gender; therefore, military members cannot be accompanied.Cost of program is paid for using Federal and State Grants such as Georgia Hope Grant, Georgia Career Grant, Pell Grant, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant. Georgia VECTR Center’s programs are designed for service members without transferable skills in the civilian sector. Students with a bachelor’s degree or higher may not qualify for certain financial aid.
