Air Force historians gather, organize, analyze, and write a wide variety of historical products that provide an accurate, objective, descriptive, and interpretive official record of Air Force operations in periods of peace and war. The primary responsibility of Air Force unit historians is completing the periodic wing history report. This report is the only official record of Air Force operations. Historians provide historical services to meet the needs of unit commanders, including preserving the cultural and material heritage of their unit and the Air Force, promoting unit esprit de corps, and supporting professional military education.
Job description:
