Hiring Our Heroes is launching the Automotive Technician Bootcamp, a hands-on, skills-based training pathway designed to prepare transitioning service members, veterans, and military and veteran spouses for careers in the automotive service industry. Hosted in partnership with TCAT Dickson, this six-week, in-person program will equip participants with foundational skills in shop safety, preventive maintenance, tire and brake service, automotive electrical systems, engine performance diagnostics, repair documentation, and professional workplace readiness. Designed as a direct pathway to entry-level employment, the program also introduces participants to continued technical education through TCAT’s Automotive Technology program. This is not just training—it is an intentional bridge to meaningful employment, economic mobility, and long-term opportunity in the automotive industry.
Designed as a direct pathway to entry-level automotive careers, this training prepares participants to work as automotive technicians in repair facilities, dealerships, service centers, fleet operations, and related vehicle maintenance environments. Participants will gain hands-on experience using professional tools and equipment, performing vehicle inspections, completing preventive maintenance, servicing tires, wheels, and brakes, testing basic electrical systems, using scan tools, documenting repair findings, and communicating service recommendations. The goal is to provide a valuable, practical experience that can lead to full-time employment with automotive employers and create a strong foundation for continued training, career advancement, and long-term success in the automotive technician field.
