Summary description:
The cold spray engineering technician will utilize the cold spray additive manufacturing principles and practice to be able to set up, operate and maintain all necessary application and testing equipment to perform both mobile and stationary cold spray repair services. This will include repair services to Aircraft parts, all Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and Support Equipment (SE) or anything deemed worthy of repair. Additionally, cold spray repair services will be utilized for corrosion repair and prevention capabilities to repair and/or strengthen any facilities and vehicles at Dyess Air Force Base as coordinated through the respective agency and the COR. With proficiency in Fanuc robotics and metallurgy experience, this individual will have full understanding of industry standard cold spray and additive repair practices. The ability to stay current on all training, certifications and all other qualifications will be required. Daily accomplishment of program goals will be fulfilled in collaboration with an onsite Mechanical and/or Materials Engineer colleague.
Job description:
Will serve as dedicated support personnel and technical liaison for cold spray repair development and support. Responsibilities:• Cold spray and additive repair development and application on candidate components.• Setup, operate, and maintain, all necessary application and testing equipment to perform both mobile and stationary CSRS, training, all tooling and tool storage necessary for all maintenance and servicing of all CSRS equipment, and engineering assistance for the development of repairs.• Perform all CSRS tasks in accordance with all Technical Orders, Engineering Technical Assistance Requests, Air Force Instructions, Air Force Manuals, Job Guides, and standard operating procedures.• Ensure that calibrations of CSRS equipment are kept up-to-date, whether by themselves or with an appropriately capable sub-contractor.• The contractor shall meet all qualification standards (i.e., bookend metallurgical test) established in the PWS or by the applicable equipment Technical Order or through an Engineering Technical Assistance Requests• Assist engineering with preparation of job routers and repair documentation.• Assist engineering with preparation and testing of all metallurgical test samples.• Provide daily training, as required, on the design, development, and application of repairs, troubleshooting, and testing for up to a maximum of four (4) military personnel assigned to the contractor’s facility at any given time.
