We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe incumbent plans, develops, coordinates, and participates in agency research programs and projects. Performs scientific work that applies mathematical theories, techniques, and methods for gathering, studying, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting of statistical information. Serves as an expert on mathematical principles. Prepares a variety of analytical reports, memoranda, and technical documents on immigration issues. Specific examples include but are not limited to thefollowing:Initiates investigations of administrative data based on observations in program assignment areas. Plans, researches, and implements the full scope of investigative projects requiring application of mathematical statistical theory. Analyzes and evaluates the accuracy and validity of data. Develops forecasting models for planning purposes. Performs analysis and develops automated models for subsequent use.
