Function: Perform a variety of structural assembly, fitting, rework and riveting operations. Perform visual and functional inspection operations to assure product meets all requirements and specifications. Responsible for assuring final quality acceptance of installations, configuration and operational response of mechanical systems, structures, components and controls. Duties: Work from Engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications and procedures, quality procedures and instructions, operation and work sheets, military and customer specifications and procedures and verbal instructions Perform a variety of structural assembly and fastener/sealant operations Inspect to engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for the individual who has been delegated Production Accountability Perform fitting and rework operations Read and interpret withholding tags, standard specifications and standard repair manual Approve and stamp acceptable assemblies and reject assemblies not meeting requirements Use a variety of power tools, hand tools and shop equipment Keep work areas clean and orderly May be required to perform other related duties as assigned Job Knowledge and Educational Requirements: Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures. Knowledge of shop routines and practices is preferred. Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required. High school diploma or an accredited GED. Experience: Experience in all phases of structural assembly/inspection operations General Physical Requirements: Lifting, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, grasping, holding, reaching, pushing and pulling are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
